T O P I C R E V I E WKeroseneYes I put them under the same category.I studied some charts of a few of these individuals I knewUsually have a strong and severely afflicted 2nd or 7th house, 4th house and 9th house.Especially 4th house because thats linked with a childhood and mental conditioning from the parents and tradition.Afflicted 7th house too because it governs equality. Has anyone studied of these 'people'?Have you found the same patterns. This one girl I know grew up in a small town and is uncomfortable with anyone who isn't "white". I didn't think she was racist until one night at a party she got really drunk and insulted some african americans and poured a drink on them....I completely ditched her and ran out of there... They ignored her thou, so she was fine. She has stellium in the 4th house opposing saturn. Sorry for the typos my phone is auto correcting everything..themischievousoneThat's a really interesting observation. 4th house and 9th house seem like that could give some indication. Being african american/caucasian, I've come across way too may of these types of people growing up.Could this also be the same or opposite of someone who has "suffered" from racism growing up? (I say suffered in quotes for lack of better words although it may or may not be too strong of a word there.) Kerosene^I had to deal with racism throughout my life and probably always will in some form. Thats just apart of being colored. I'm glad I went to my parents when I was young because they sort of told me this what life is like and you to suck it up. I never let it dramatize me or let myself feel victimized. If anything I feel bad for those people.I feel someone with a an afflicted 4th house even if they are colored could be racist themselves and would segregate themselves. I noticed this a lot too.As for feeling victimized could be how sensitive the person is.PixieJaneInteresting enough, IMO, I knew a guy who used to be racist (and I even studied his chart years ago but I've unfortunately lost it since then, though it's possible the birth info is in an email and I'll look for it again later). I found him fairly typical as a Cancer in unquestioning loyalty to tribe as well as family making him very traditional and patriotic, and as I think he was born in the 50s of KY he internalized a lot of white privilege and racism. Not the cross burning kind but definitely "I'm too good for their company" kind. And then one day there was an accident at a plant he worked at back in I think the 1970s and all his white friends who'd been beside him ran to save themselves while he was hanging off a ledge losing his hold on the ledge. A black man whom he'd always shunned and talked about maliciously behind his back ran toward him, risking his own life, and pulled my friend up before he fell, and they ran side by side in evacuating, the last pair to exit the building. At that point he did a 180 and radically changed some beliefs (though he remains as stubborn as ever about them and taking debate very personally) and is now about as anti-racist as you can get (by that I mean he'll publicly confront people over it, report racists, etc). And interesting enough he also rejected other forms of bigotry as well so that he stands up, even publicly for gays as well as racial minorities (and as a result many in his family won't accept him, something that I think must hurt him terribly, and I bet he was refused some jobs over it, too). And another thing I've noticed...racists do tend to be bigots in other ways as well...some very anti-gay people I know were also upset about a black woman showing up (turned out zero black people were there at those apartments and the handful of minorities, probably just enough to keep from getting sued and all of Asian descent as far as I can tell, unless you counted the swarthy Italian family, and they were shunned, looking surprise when I said hello to them as I passed). My BFF, who is black, reports many of the strongest anti-gay bigots in the black community are often racists themselves as well (not to say all white & black bigots against gays are also racists, but it does seem to be the way to bet). And now states that got the most signatures to bar any equality at all to gays are, in large part, the same one that a few decades ago were also upset about interracial marriage (where they gave almost exactly the same reasons, including Biblical ones). Of course the gay marriage debate exists in the first place because marriage laws were put in place to prevent whites from diluting their blood and creating "tainted" whites that couldn't be identified (or perhaps even worse, those raised outside of the white community who could pass for one of them). Also interesting enough many of these same states actually have few to no laws against bestiality and, at least until recently, could often marry minors, and even to this day many allow first cousins to marry & breed with full recognition of their rights (which is both interesting in perhaps being the ultimate bigotry in wanting to associate only with one's kin as well as many of them saying, "If we legalize interracial/gay marriage then people will marry incestuously" or equally absurd statements), and many of those states are some of the most anti-gay. KeroseneI like how your friend had a complete 180. I noticed cancerians are very much attached by their upbringing and traditions. I assume it gives them security? That experience with that black man must of been a work of a Uranian transit in the 9th house perhaps? Thou I do think conservatism is slowly dying off because its becoming a taboo amongst our generation. We would not raise our children to hate others because they are different in appearance and lifestyle. I have noticed people who are against gay marriage are also a bit racist too, intolerant and ignorant . Thats hotmes of a girl had a anti gay marriage band. Why would you wear that?.. Its a shame because she had a funny personality but horrible political views, its like she's a broken person full of hate.Nobody hangs around her because we do not tolerate hate mongers in our city. meyrayI once read that an afflicted Mars in the 9th House could cause bigotry.depthThe only thing I learnt from the two people below is that Saturn plays an important role in the charts of bigots, racists...My semi-racist friend 1:Mercury (4H & 7H ruler) in aries opposite a retrograde Libra Jupiter in the 7th.Retrograde Venus conjunct Mercury9H in ScorpioRetrograde Scorpio Pluto in the 9th square Saturn in the 12th.2H in AriesAries Sun in 2nd sextile Saturn in 12th5H Mars in Cancer trine PlutoMars square Sun.My semi-racist friend 2, Besides being racist, she's a religious fanatic. Survey them.GemNymphRacism and bigotry in general may be hard to pinpoint in a chart as it is a form of bigotry contigent upon social privilege and social institutions and norms that perpetuate that privilege. One is not born a racist or a bigot, but learns to be one from others. Lots of things factor into a typical bigoted personality, like fear of losing one's social privilege/status, need for social acceptence/approval, hostility toward change and narrow, authoritarian style thinking that you may be able to detect in a chart, but it is CRUCIAL to remember that just because factors that suggest the native may be prone to these traits don't mean the person will manifest those traits (personal growth can re-direct them) or that they are a bigot. So be careful and never assume anything that isn't really shown in a chart.Doux Rêve^ +1.Kerosene^^-2Astrology is not just what your born it shows your childhood and your development. So we can't know for sure if someone is a racist or whatever just by looking at a chart.
